1:
Double click
My Computer.
2: Double click the
Dial Up Networking folder.
3: Double click the
Make New Connection icon.
4:
Type
PHONL
where is say’s Type a name for the computer you are dialing
5: Click the
Next button.
6:
Type in the local dial-up number for you.
7: Click the
Next button.
8: Click the
Finish
Button.
9: Right
click
on the new PHONL icon you just created and then
Left click on
Properties.
Find the line that says something similar to Area Code and Dialing
Properties, there should not
be a check mark beside it.
10: Click on the
Server Types tab.
11: Ensure
Enable Software Compression Option is the Only option
checked in the Advanced Options Section.
12: In the
Allowed Network Protocols section, Only the
TCP/IP must have a check mark next to it.
13: Click on the
TCP/IP Settings button.
14: Server Assigned IP Address
must be checked
15: Specify Name Server Addresses must
be checked.
16: Next to Primary DNS type:
204.49.102.4
17: Next to Secondary DNS type: 204.49.102.5
18: Make sure
Use IP Header Compression and Use Default Gateway on
Remote Network are checked.
19: Click
Ok to close the IP Settings Box.
20: Click
Ok
again to close the PHONL Properties window.
21: Click
File, then
Close
to close the
Dialup Networking Folder.
22: Click on
Start, then go to
Settings and select
Control
Panel.
23: In
Control Panel, double click the
Internet icon.
24: On the
General tab, type
http://access.phonl.com
in place of any existing http addresses that may currently be there in
the Home Page
section.
25: Click on the
Connection Tab at the top.
26: (Internet
Explorer 4.0)
Select Connect to the internet using
a modem. , then click on
Settings
(Internet
Explorer 5.0)
Select Dial whenever a
network connection isn't present, then click on Apply and
disregard steps 29 – 33.
27: Choose
PHONL
where it says, Use the following Dial up Network connection.
28: Type in your
username
and
password
on that very
same page.
29: Click
Ok to close the Dial up Settings window.
30: Click
Ok again to close the Internet Properties window.
31: Click
File and then click
Close to close the Control Panel.
32: Shutdown and/or Restart your computer.
33: When
your computer restarts, double click your
Internet Explorer
icon and enjoy.
